Building a recognizable brand for your nonprofit is a significant challenge but an important step in solidifying your donor base and your visibility both in the digital world and in your community. But how much that do you as a nonprofit professional give to building your own personal brand?
Ryan Rhoten shared his insight on brand building at Wordcamp Dayton:
As a nonprofit professional, you’re already connected to something you care about: your nonprofit’s mission! You can bring that passion and connection to your own social media accounts beyond the set structure for organizations in a digital spaces. You can bring your organization’s mission into your personal brand at networking events when you advocate and share with enthusiasm how your nonprofit makes you feel. Use your personal brand to add human connection with your nonprofit brand to foster genuine engagement. Be sure to take Rhoten’s advice and be mindful of how your personal brand and nonprofit brand make people feel as you navigate your spaces.
